Description of Services
The Stemmery is a floral delivery subscription service. We do not offer one-time floral deliveries. If you purchase an arrangement or bouquet from The Stemmery, it will initiate a subscription and you will receive a recurring charge on the payment method you provide according to your subscription selections until you notify us otherwise.
How The Stemmery works
- Select which flower arrangement you would like to receive on a recurring basis, delivery frequency and delivery day and add to your cart.
*Helpful tip: If you would like to purchase more than one subscription, in order to specify different preferences (i.e. delivery frequency and delivery day) for each one, you will need to add each selection to your cart separately. However, if you would like all the same preferences on each subscription, you may select a multiple quantity with your preferences and add to your cart. If you would like different delivery addresses for multiple subscriptions, we recommend placing separate orders for each separate delivery address.
- Complete the checkout process and create an account. Account creation is mandatory so that you can manage your subscription easily. Once you complete your purchase, the amount specified will be immediately charged. Your card will then be charged on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis according to your subscription preferences.
- We deliver delight to your doorstep! Once your subscription is set up, expect your fresh, artisanal flower arrangement to be delivered soon!
- Manage your account information in the My Stems account portal and manage your subscription preferences via the Manage My Subscription link.
Subscription Activation Info
Subscriptions will be activated 3 business days after your order is placed. For example, if you make your purchase on a Monday and select a Tuesday delivery, your first delivery will arrive Tuesday of the following week.
Subscription Change Info
Deliveries will be made on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis on either Tuesday or Friday, according to your specification unless notice is given by you to skip a delivery or to cancel your subscription. If you want us to skip a delivery, we will gladly do so and your card will not be charged as long as you notify us at least 5 days beforehand. If you would like to suspend deliveries for a selected time period, we will do that and your card will not be charged for any skipped deliveries. If you would like to cancel your subscription, the cancelation will occur 7 business days after your notice and your card will cease to be charged. Any deliveries scheduled to occur within the 7 business days following your cancellation notice will be charged as normal and delivered. You also have the option to donate your flowers to charity if you are unable to receive them. If you do this, your card will be charged as normal. The charities where your flowers may be given are listed here. We’ll let you know where they end up!
Any other changes made to your subscription preferences may take up to 3 business days to activate.
Subscription and Account Management
Any management of your account and subscription should take place using the Manage My Subscription and My Stems links on thestemmery.com. Customers can manage their subscription live, delivery frequency, delivery day, skip or donate deliveries and cancel their subscription under the Manage My Subscription link. Customers can view previous orders, manage addresses, payment information and other personal details under the My Stems link.
If you purchase Cascadian Stems or Olympic Blooms, it will arrive in a classic glass vase. We’ll always deliver your arrangement in a new vase and will pick up your empty vase from your last arrangement. We’ll provide you with personalized information about where to leave your vessel for return pickup after we make your first delivery.
The vases your flowers arrive in belong to The Stemmery. If you cancel at any time, we will schedule a time after your final delivery to pick up your empty vase. If the vase is not returned at this time, you will be charged $10 to replace it.
If at any point during your subscription, if your last vase isn’t available for pickup, please return it the next time we deliver flowers. If at any point you end up having multiple vases in your possession, we will reach out requesting them to be returned. At our discretion, if you fail to return our vases, you may be charged $10 for each vase unreturned. Please just keep communication open if you forget or need to keep a vase longer.
If your vase breaks, you’ll be charged $10 to replace it.
All deliveries will be made between 8am – 5pm on the day you specified when you subscribed (Tuesday or Friday).
If you select weekly delivery, we will deliver on the same day every week.
If you select every other week delivery, we will deliver on the same day every other week.
If you select monthly delivery, we will deliver on the day you select (Tuesday or Friday) in the same week of the month as your first delivery (1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th week). If your first delivery occurs in the 5th week of a month, it will arrive in the 4th week of the following month.
If you live in an apartment or condo, please provide us with detailed information on how to access your building and where to leave your flowers. If building security allows us, we will always attempt a delivery to your door. If you aren’t home, we will leave your flowers in the place specified by your building management or yourself to keep them safe until you can pick them up. If your building is only accessible by a call box and there is not management, leasing office or concierge available to let us into your building if you do not answer when we call upon delivery, please provide us with a back-up plan for how to access your building or where to leave your flowers. The Stemmery can not be held responsible for your flowers once they are delivered.
If you live in a single-family home, we will deliver the flowers directly to your door. If you are not home, we will ask for a specified safe place to leave your flowers. The Stemmery can not be held responsible for your flowers once they are delivered.
Failed Delivery Attempts
This applies primarily to apartment or condo buildings, but also single-family homes if there are access issues. We will always do our best to deliver your flowers and our policy on delivery attempts is as follows: We will attempt access, either directly or by calling on a call box. If access is unavailable, we will contact you via the phone number you have provided either by calling or texting. We will then wait 10 minutes continuing to attempt access during this time. If we do not receive a response from you and are unable to access your building or home during this time, we will not be able to complete your delivery. We are not responsible for failed delivery attempts and request that if you are concerned that this may happen, that you provide us with an alternative plan for how to deliver your flowers. This may be a building access code, an alternative contact within your building who can let us in or an outside place to leave your flowers (we can not be held responsible for your flowers once they are delivered to a location specified by you). Additionally, if you work during the day, you may consider having your subscription delivered to your office rather than home.
If we are unable to complete a delivery due to building or home access, we are unable to refund you for your flowers and most likely unable to reattempt delivery. You may reach out to us by emailing email@example.com to coordinate pickup of your bouquet or arrangement from Seattle Seed Company, our partner shop, located at 151 12th Ave, Seattle, WA. Depending on availability, we may be able to reattempt delivery for a $15 fee.
If you would like to set up a subscription for your business, you are free to use our website, however we would also be happy to set up an account for you, especially if you are subscribing to multiple arrangements. We are also able to create alternative subscription options to meet your needs, so please feel free to reach out if you would like help with your corporate or business subscription.
The prices listed on our site do not include sales tax. The Stemmery collects destination-based sales tax, according to Washington State law, on your purchase subtotal, including delivery. This sales tax will be added to your total during the checkout process.
The Stemmery accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
Your information is safe with us. We will not sell or give away your personal details, email address, mailing address, payment information or anything else without your express permission.
We will communicate basic delivery information with our delivery drivers and whoever is responsible for receiving deliveries if you are receiving your subscription in an office, business, apartment or condo building.
